 I have a weakness for snug fitting shorts on big, handsome men! Nuff said.

There's also some clever photography in this image. It's a commercial shoot and the underwear is meant to be the main focus. That's achieved by setting it's vibrant colours against a background entirely comprised of understated, earth tones. That includes even the model's body, although the colours there are rich enough to stand out.

The architecture background with it's soaring spire conjures up a sense of aspiration (reaching for the stars and all that). The model is seen mounting a ladder, as if heading towards that elevated goal with only his underpants to assist him. Which goes to show how far a sexy pair of undies will get you!

The determined set of his face adds to all that but also picks up on the hovering mood of the city of superheroes, which the familiar skyscraper inevitably remind us of .

Merman or Mer-warrior?

Rob Saint - Merman Splash

 This artist approaches the merman as a heroic, god-like figure, able to raise himeself above the water. He almost looks as if he is emerging from the mouth of a fish. The water itself is depicted in an interesting, slightly spiky way as though it is a hostile or alien environment (which it must be for a metal sword surely!). The depiction of the man's physique is also very detailed, but rather bland by comparison. There's a sense of great strength, but not much by way of personality. The vexed question of reproduction is simply ignored with an indecisive mist shrouding the area. An odd column of oval dots running down the body of the fish seems to hint bizarrely at a buttoned-up covering.  I'm irresistably reminded of those dancing fish with Top Hats and waistcoats that cartoonists used to draw.

Mike Matters by Colt Studio

 I've always had a soft spot for a big man with smooth muscles.

Especially one with a friendly look like this!

Mike's compact jock sits nicely on that broad frame.

It combines the traditional broad waistband with a funky modern colour

Sheepshearers

I don't think this is the sheep shearing season on either side of the world but this daft fantasy has a spring-like atmosphere about it that's endearing. There's nothing more pleasing than a man showing off his body as he works, some might say the same about underwear.

I have this attributed to 'abadint' but I suspect it's from a more conventional name.

 

The Diver

This back-flipping diver seems to represent the world's readiness to embrace a new era after the catastrophe that was 2020, cute trunks too!

It's Raining

Steve Walker - Rain

 The unashamedly romantic and pretty images of Steve Walker are usually a delightful diversion from the casual lustfulness of the gay universe, but this image seems to play on that difference to sketch out two contrasting personalities gathered together under the one umbrella to shelter from the rain. The stances of the two men show the one's relaxed attitude compared with a tenser, but so determined, stance next to him. Their clothing suggests they have different attitudes to self-image and gay love. A hint of separation might mean that the clouds are not all up in the sky. 

Is this a coming together? A parting? Or just a passing squall?

Confinement

Nice colours again. This one predates the virus but is strangely apt.

The view of confinement equating to isolation in this bleak open wasteland

is a bit idiosyncratic though!
